One of our long-standing customers asked us to produce a sweeping arm mechanism for a lapping machine. Measurements were taken from the machine and initially hand drawn. The CAD drawings were completed and turned into an assembly drawing to enable us to check that all the parts could work together and that they would produce the desired effect. The CAD drawings were then presented to the customer, and with their approval, a few minor changes and tweaks, the full batch of completed sets were supplied to the customer within the lead time of four weeks.
We are also involved in the surface technology industry, producing fine surface finishes which are required by the medical and optical industries, whilst creating hip and knee joints for example.
We were also involved in designing and manufacturing flatness gauges used for testing surface flatness. This component consists of two parts, one piece being a case hardened ground and flat lapped bar, which is used to compare the flatness of the component to be checked. The second part is the gauge and it is black-powder coated. We also supply clocks and other parts to complete this assembly. Then it is delivered to the customer as a complete set within the time limit of six weeks.
